Hotshot Performance has made a new CAI for the QG18DE engine. Most of you know that a CAI for a GA16DE or SR20De will fit onto a QG18DE engine. This particular HS CAI seems to fit the engine bay much better then the previous Place Racing SR20DE CAI that we were using. This CAI seems to mold to the body of the drivers side wheel well.

The HS CAI looks a lot cleaner then some Ive seen before. HS has them coated for that show shine finish. The B-pipe section of the new HotShot CAI is 3" in diameter. The A-pipe section is Hotshots new revised design, and it measures out to 2.5" in diameter.

The stock MAF plugs directly into the silicone Hotshot wraps. Simply insert and tighten the metal clamps until they are tightly hugging the MAF in place. No fabrication should be necessary in order for this piece of the CAI to function correctly.

The stock Air/Temp sensor simply plugs into the upper section of the B-Pipe.

You will not need to drill a larger hole to insert the 3" B-pipe down through the B15's fender wall. Although when installing, you may want to coat the holes edges with a small rubber lining, or wire loom to protect the CAI from rattling at idle. We noticed after installed, that the CAI did do a bit of idle rattle at the stop light. As you can see in the picture above, we coated the holes walls with blue wire loom that was left over from dressing up the engine bay. This stopped the rattle problem.
